1:6 incarnation
Helix was a spontaneous last minute project in reality. Some time around late August I was continuing the work on the Gi Joe Resolute series of characters, but the pace was slow at best. Simply the creative drive was not spinning at all. Then I spotted this Gi Joe comic at local comic shop that was completely unfamiliar with. First impression was "Who the heck is that Agent Helix?". I must admit at that moment yours truly was a little ashamed coz as a Joe nut and this little lady completely slipped through my radar. How could this possible? The only reason was I simply didn't pay any attention to the Rise of Cobra movie and all its companion marketing spinoffs. In any case the more I read the comic, the more I got drawn into the character. So that means A 1:6 version was definitely on the drawing board. After gathering thoughts on how to pull it off, most of the parts have to be customized from scratch or modded from other pieces. The zip-up top was particularly tricky as there was no existing piece that looked remotely similar to the concept art, that means it has to be scratchbuilt. Rest of the parts are mostly modded from existing pieces. Overall a relatively straight forward project, if not most of the time was spent on making the zip-up top.
In the nutshell
Head: Repainted Triad female 01 with aftermarket wig and partially rerooted forehead hairline.
Zip-up sweater: Custom piece. The template was modified from the one featured in Action Girl Mook. Spandex was from your neighborhood friendly fabric outlet. Zipper was cannibalized from AJ Mcleod's jumpsuit. Not the best result I must admit, hopefully next one will have less bugs in it.
Chest harness: Custom piece. The corset is from some high end fashion doll. I replaced the fabric thread with wire, but ripped out a couple of tiny eyelets in the process. Bummer!! Chest rig's velcro piece was stripped from DML SWAT vest, altered to the desire size and sewed on a base pleather piece. Buckles and webbing are from aftermarket source.
Holster: Custom. The mounting plate was a heavily dremeled CG ICE holster. New cover is made from aluminum plating.
10mm auto pistols: Custom ZC pieces. Sight mount is made from styrene stripes. Optic is a reworked DML reflex sight.
Pants: DML Hit Team Jo.
Boots: Custom Triad bootfeet. Used to be high heels, but I switched out for flat military soles and reworked the sleeves to accommodate them.
Body/hands: ZC Eve and Rosanna
