Mandalorian Candidates

Introduction

Rewind a few years back, fellow esteem OSW member Alyasha and I have been on and off talking about collaborating on Mandalorian supercommandos project from the SW universe together. Each of us customized a fictional Mandalorain warrior, completed with back sotry loosely tied in with the Expanded Universe plot. Their adventures took place on Mandalore near the end of Clone Wars. Republic forces sited the violation of armarment embrago, have sent in their armada to enforce its authority on Mandalore. Battle soon broken out between the armada and the planet's inhibitants. Orbital bombardment have been pounding the surface for 2 straight weeks. Mandalorians were on the verge of being defeated. A few surviving super commandos led by commander Ferro were making a last stand near Governor Vrox's private spaceport, hoping to delay the assault in order to let Vrox's space yatcht to safely lift off. Two of Ferro's most trusted subordinates; the tremor disruptor rifle weling Solace Byjec and his mohwak hair style comrade in arms Hahk Lahn-Sei were leading their own team of commandos on a mission to stall Republic forces' advance. Solace's close combat team: Wraiths and Hahk's fast attack unit: SehkLon'g - Wolfangels of death were mapping out potential killzones in the projected routes, and quietly waiting for their prey to walk straight into their traps.

Defense of Mandalore

Day 12, Governor Vrox's private spaceport


This is most likely the very last entry of my life. It has been nearly 2 weeks of non-stop bombardment. Finally our artilleries were disabled by the invading Republic armies.
Capital and it's surrounding areas now lay in ruins, rotten bodies scattered everywhere. We lost many citizens and fellow warriors during the bombardment and countless street battles afterwards. Republic has no business here. Invading us in the name of illegally manufacturing war driods was just another pretext to annex our star systems. Yes, we do manufacture them in large numbers, so what? It's a simple supply and demand, we don't see any wrong with that; and what's with that weapon regulations imposed by them?
They are no better than us. Now the Republic and its Jedi scums are closing in to our last stronghold, Governor Vrox's Fortress. Governor himself is not preparing to evacuate from the planet in his star yacht just yet. He has issued an order to us "The Wraiths" and Hahk Lahn-Sei's SehkLon'g - Wolfangels of death to delay the enemies' advancing before he can lift off. Our commander, Janx Ferro is leading the assault, we have been mapped out several killzones where we'll lay our ambushes. That's not all, we have also booby trapped buildings and artifacts; it'll be a real surprise for them. Forward recon scouts have been relaying latest intel feeds from their concealed positions. So far they have spotted one of the advancing forces consists of 2 squads of Republic so-called elite troopers and their commander, plus another squad of 5 Jedis, 16 men in total. In addtion to the 4 forward scout units; we on the other hand have 10 men plus commander Ferro and a JU-9 Juggernaut War Droid. The elite troopers should be quite easy to take care of, but I'm not so sure about the Jedis though. Hahk's team were already engaging the targets as of this moment. Unit's leader, Hahk Lahn-Sei, being attacked and mutilated by Wookies and has to wear prosthetic atmospheric rebreather and rangefinder built into his skull, has made him even more hateful towards Republic and it's allies. His unit members are equipped with Mitrirnomon Z8.5 Jetpacks, light weight version of our standard Z6s. The fact that it 's ability to operate in underwater and zero-G enviroments plus their combat experiences make them one of the most feared units in Mandalorian forces. Hopefully, they'll do some serious damage on Republic forces before reaching spaceport defence perimeter. We'll take out as many Republic forces as we can before Governor's ship can lift off.



Epilogue

Battle of Mandalore, one of the most brutal skirmishes of Clone Wars, has ended with Jedi defeated the Mandalorians. Governor Vrox's fate was not known; his star yacht was disabled on the ground. Ferro was presumed killed, body never recovered. Boba Fett, Fenn Shysha, Tobbi Dala, Hahk Lahn-Sei and Solace Byjec and a few others are the only surviving commandos. They were scattering across the galaxy, some took up the occupation of bounty hunters for crime groups such as Hutt cartels and Black Sun. Some joined Papaltine's new order as stormtrooper instructors at Imperial military academies, while others simply vanished altogether.

Decades later, unconfirmed sightings reported that a bounty hunter wearing the armour of one of the last survivors of Battle for Mandalore Solace Byjec has been spotted in the outer rims. Is that Byjec himself or someone impersonating his persona? We would never know because no one who has seen the face under the helmet lived to tell the identity.
