Prologue
When comes to passion of Scifi modelling, nothing has tremendous influence on me than Space Battleship Yamato, not even Gundam. I have been wanting to add a dedicated section focus on Yamato expanded universe mechas since the revival of the franchise. Thanks to that revival, many long discontinued kits on the series are once again become available. Naturally I stocked up a few of them in a heartbeat. Not all the kits were reissued though, the four kits from Yamato Forever were omitted from the reissue. I wish Bandai would reissue them as well someday. There are a few Japanese concept art sites that focus on expanded universe vessels, I must say much of the inspiration were drawn from browsing them daily. More vessels from different factions will be added later, creative drive permitted.

As the Bolar Wars dragged on, Desslok consulted with his staff to construct a much larger flagship and reclassified his current flagship as the lead ship in a new class of battlecruisers that would serve as senior flag officers and expedition force flagships. The main difference externally was the position of the bridge superstructure. It has been moved towards the bow and left enough space for two aft main gun turrets. The tower also housed a hanger bay and landing pad for VIP & emergency escape crafts. The older less powerful gun turrets have been retained but repositioned to new locations. Replacing them in the old slots are much more powerful particle gun turrets which would experience less overheat and recharge time. The iconic Desslok Wave Motion Gun has been replaced with a newer, less powerful hungry mass production type. Aviation compliments are the standard 120 crafts with a 3:1 ratio share of fighters & bombers. At this moment, there are at least 38 vessels serving throughout the theatres of operation such as Eastern Region of the Orion Arm. At least two are assigned to serve as Desslok flagship's personal escorts.

The Bolar Wars
The Galmans are the ancestral race of Gamilas Empire. After the battle with the Dark Nebula Empire ended, a battle which destroyed the Gamilas homeworld, Desslok and his remaining forces set out to search for this ancestral homeland. They found Galman, who are enslaved by the cruel grey-skinned aliens known as the Bolars. They promptly liberated Galman, and a galaxy-wide conflict erupted.

Force projection task force flagship
Heavily armed capital ships designed to project Galman-Gamilas' influence across the galaxy through military might. Each ship usually carries at least twelve squadrons of starfighters and attack crafts. Aside from the aviation element, the vessel is also equipped with a prefabricated garrison base for immediate ground occupation. Task force flagship usually travels with escort cruisers, destroyers and subspace strike ships as a single task group. A large scale sector operation though, would require the combine strength of several task groups. Domeras V is one such ship. Commanded by Desslok's trusted General Tarkon. Domeras task force has engaged Bolar Federation fleets in many occasions. Chasing them from one side for the Horsehead Nebula to the other side at the Greater Orion Sector. It's scaled-down version of Desslok wave motion gun has fired in anger at Bolar fleets in numerous conflicts. Though less powerful than the one onboard Desslok's flagship, it has saved the task group from destruction countless times.

The Kit
Reworked Bandai 1/2400 Galman Gamilas large combat ship. I never really digged the idea of the bridge being that far back and directly above the main proplusion. If one lucky shot took out the poplusion, the resulting internal explosion would most definitely take out the bridge altogether. So I moved the bridge superstructure forward and exdended the hull to make the hull more slimline. All the large turrets, believe it or not, were metal buttoms. The boomerang missile were modded into part of the bridge's superstructure. Last major mod was to add Desslar wave motion gun to the front end.
